The company was formerly known as STX Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and changed its name to HD-Hyundai Marine Engine Co., Ltd. in July 2024. HD-Hyundai Marine Engine Co., Ltd. was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Changwon-si, South Korea.
