The company also manufacture, sale, and service of beauty and health equipment and cosmetics related to nails; and manufacture and sale of industrial materials and equipment. The company was formerly known as Shofu Dental Mfg. Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Shofu Inc. in 1983. Shofu Inc. was incorporated in 1922 and is based in Kyoto, Japan.
